Peter Broderick

Do not read this.
I bought his album entitled 'Float' not long ago & I still enjoy it to this day, I am pretty new to this style of music (modern classical i suppose you would call it) but for some reason, just hearing a few peices of of this record, made me have to hear more...The 1st track, entitled 'A Snowflake' is really the one for me, I abeselutly love it.

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice into more of the same/similar sounding stuff.

Thanks in advance

Check out the likes of Max Richter (The Blue Notebooks is a beautiful album), Philip Glass, Greg Haines, maybe Arve Henriksen... There's some really powerful "glitchy" contempory classical around too. In particular, check out the incredible Swod. Oh, and Marsen Jules...

I like Broderick a lot too.

Type is a good label for this kind of stuff. The Deaf Center releases are lovely...

peter brokerick's "home" and "docile" are of the same style. and yeah, do check out the deaf center cd on type (as well as goldmund). as mentioned, most of the max richter cds are really good, as is "sekunden" by swod. also hannu "worms in my piano" and "solo piano" by gonzales.

more recently, i've also really enjoyed rafael anton irisarri "daydreaming," robert haigh "a waltz in plain c" and and parts of the s/t cd by christian naujoks on dial.

i'm always eager to hear more of this stuff, thanks for starting this thread.

this is such a slept-on album.
