Everyone lauds Instramental & D Bridge but I can't remember ever hearing a forward thinking progressive D&B tune that actually made me want to dance

Try some of the following;

Calibre - Step Toe
Calibre - Stolen Shadow
ST. Files - Moods
Spectrasoul - Melodies
dBridge - Inner Disbelief

These tracks illustrate my point perfectly, I don't even see any interesting progressions in them and they definitely don't make me want to dance

Nevermind. To each his own.

I'm no contemporary D&B apologist, but out of the few bits & pieces I do manage to hear these days, I felt one or two of those tunes had some merit.

Anyway... back to Juke.

thanks for posting the video which showed the djs in action upthread.

i have another question > is it a purely male dominated style or do females get involved to?

that's a really great question that i hadn't even considered. I have some great B-more with female vocalists (rather than samples), but not juke....

Last 5 or 10 of this video are about ghettotech and then juke. interesting watching, really good clean footage of footworking

I'm not too keen on this vid until 2:30, when it turns into acid juke!!!! hothothot

That's what the 21st century sounds like, right there. Genius find man, thanks. I love the idea that 15 seconds of some song that I'll never know who it's by on some youtube clip becomes my song for the year.

hehe, we probably wouldn't be half as rabid over this stuff if it was easily available.. ah well

speaking of which I hunted down the awesome DJ Roc - Juke City 2 mixtape, which features a handful of my fav tracks from IMEEM (R.I.P.).. it's free and virus-free here: http://mixmenow.net/download_track/4303195/DJ_Roc/DJ_Roc/Juke_City_2_The_Take_Over/

Waited For You + Let's Cruise = happy staypuft

You sir/madam/both/neither definitely get bought a drink next time you're in London for this, big up your chest.

oh. my. dayz.

the track at 3:58 in this vid is incredible. super simple and stripped down.. it sounds like a chopped and hyped version of perculator.. think I Care Because You Do era Aphex versus Wiley???

not to mention the awesome sample lift right before this song.. strawberry letter 23 footwork.

btw mistersloane, your acid juke track is in the beginning of this vid.. maybe it's by Rashad?

there's also loads of hype tracks near the end.. intense halfstep booty beats
