What I distrust more than anything is people who act like they're too grown up for left wing politics, killing, guillotines, appropriation and redistribution of resources, class war, forced nationalisations etc

Who equate a grown up politics with being boring and equating power as presently constituted as some kind of state of nature.

I say kill now and share out the booty.

Having a hard-on for revolutionary violence is all well and good until you find yourself dying of cholera in a slave labour camp because you make a living as a writer and are therefore an intellectual and therefore bourgeois.

It's weird that the conservatives are actually the radicals and the socialists the conservatives here - the Tories ripping up the socialist institutions.

And they market themselves as radicals too, with Corbyn the relic of the 1930s.

It's not just about ensuring Boris wins it's about ensuring Corbyns brand of politics is discredited for generations to come. An obvious point but disappointing to see so many people who are, at the very least, somewhat to the left of mr tea, buy into it.

The most upsetting thing I've witnessed in politics I would say.

Or you know, that could just put a new leader in who doesn't embody all the worst traits of the old left. Someone who isn't led by the nose by big unions and doesn't ape their reactionary positions on Brexit. Someone who isn't a serial apologist for authoritarianism.

I still wouldn't be surprised if we get a hung parliament tbh, despite the current polling. Still a coupe of weeks to go.

Someone who doesn't have reactionary anti-migration policies.

The next leader will just be better 'cos he or she (hopefully) won't have had 40 years of hard left brain ossification and the bedfellows that come with that.

Unless he just squeaks the election, then it's a different story. Labour's threshold to form a government is so much lower. They only need about a 5-10 seat gain to form a government.

Or as someone put it on Twitter today...

Why do some insist that “we need someone better than Jeremy”? You think the press would be softer on someone else? We found the gentlest teetotalling vegan in the world who hands out jam he made from fruits on his allotment & they convinced lots of people he’s a demon. Get a grip.

Idgaf about the press. I'm talking about me, that's what I find objectionable and can't support. Labour have some much needed policies, the Green New Deal amongst them, but I can't get behind the current leadership

Out of all the political leaders we've had to choose from this over the last 20 years this the one everyone's up in arms about. Mad.
