Did you ever see The Leopard (Il Gatopardo) where the lead speaks a different language from the rest of the cast and so it's only available dubbed so he matches them, or the other way so they match him. Common for their to be no shared language in giallos etc but not with a big art film.

The second worst crime against taste Nolan committed was having Michael Caine in old man makeup reciting Dylan Thomas as mcconaughey flew into space.
