I've never wished ill will on anyone. that's different from calling someone a jackass.
But say you could kill him and no one would ever know, and you also knew his family wouldnt be sad either, and you could see into the future and know you personally wouldnt be dealing with any guilt or ptsd over taking a life, what would you do then?

we were in the banker by cannon st. not a great pub. i dont think i like drinking under railway arches. always feels a bit scuzzy and sad.
Flashbacks to The Godfather. Edmund's gonna cap me when he comes back from the loo, or piss all over the table.

(20/100) The Killers, "Mr Brightside"

I like this song but it's not on the list because I like it, it's on the list because this is universal pop culture for people my age. I just had coffee with someone last week, they broke their foot at a wedding when "Mr Brightside" came on. Everybody likes "Mr Brightside." Nobody doesn't like "Mr Brightside."

I genuinely don't. Always really hated it. Someone bought me the album when it came out as a leaving gift or birthday present and I was like "this music is the anti-me".

Its just a horrible flat surface with faux-emotion. Music for walking listlessly around HMV.
That's a perfect description.

I think whisper it but I did like this when I first heard it, susceptible to melodrama as I am

My mum recently discovered and loved this song, very possibly a further indictment

Is it not so universal in the UK? It is the number song for normies in america, so much so that theres a bit of post modern awareness about it for them which is rare in that group.

Do you all have pop punk / emo nights at bars or clubs there? Theyre huge here. Songs like mr brightside played all night at otherwise normal bars/clubs one night a week.

If I ever have a son or daughter, I'm going to play this song all the time when they're really small then suddenly stop playing it. And wait for them to discover this.

I’m convinced that perpetually, at any one moment somewhere around the world, this banger’s being belted out by a crowd of club goers.

I was at The Temple Bar in Dublin the other day. There were two guys playing live music on the stage. As soon as they started playing Mr. Brightside everybody started singing aloud with their beers held up high. A guy with a shirt of Paul Gascoigne hugged me and we sang together. People all around were happy to stay together and share those moments even if most of them didn't know each other, there were swedishs, germans, italians and Irish people of course, the two old guys on the stage semmed to feel themselves younger and completely involved in the atmosphere. The magic of music. I will never forget those moments, that seem last forever to me.

This song was a hit in the rock circles here in Kenya Africa. It's almost a decade now and I still love it.

I don't know what goes on out there anymore, if I ever did, but you certainly had 'indie' nights in the UK when I was a student

People dancing their hearts out to Bloc Party and The Smiths and Franz Ferdinand

I had a road to damascusy moment watching bloc party, already balls deep in DNB i decided that any music involving guitars and drums was absolute dross
