Yes, you Lads have spent 15 years meticulously charting the political fault lines and aesthetic micro-gestures and subcultural sub-divisions of your own youth culture. I don't understand why you're confused why Americans half your age might occasionally try to do the same with theirs

proud to say I never had a killers phase. I was to busy looking for the best rendition of 'Run like an antelope out of control' from the mid 90's

It's not about having a PHASE I didn't have a PHASE this stuff was inescapable, I've heard this song dozens of times, I know half the words, despite never downloading it / putting on my iPod etc

that is what I mean. I just dont think Americans love wonderwall. Maybe the brits do but its more punchline than genuine love here

I wasn't talking about Americans in particular, I was talking about a similar dynamic around that song.

perhaps, just havent personally experienced it. I can see Corpsey and his cohort of 35 year old marketing associates going crazy for it at a company retreat in cyprus though
