    House/electro/acid 12" recommendations...

Heh. I probably don't have the skill to execute it successfully, and I don't have "Dexter" on vinyl (would it kill him to release it with "Easy Lee" as a double a-side?), but I'll look into it...I assume you mean the Jaydee tune, right? (edit) ...he said, before realizing he didn't know of any...

    House/electro/acid 12" recommendations...

I've just started DJing (I suck now, so no worries about me uploading terrible mixes for at least several months), and I'm looking for recommendations...mostly concentrating on house, new-electro, old acid house, and trendy hipster scum disco/post-punk stuff. Anything is helpful- classics...

what did you listen to today?

Can's Soundtracks (finally picked up a copy, and can't stop listening to "Tango Whiskeyman"), Trevor Jackson's Playgroup 80's/new wave mix, and Mark Ronson's Jay-Z mix for Fade to Black (quite good, and much better than the movie itself if most reviewers are correct...).

what did you listen to today?

Arthur Russell's World of Echo , as much of the LCD Soundsystem album as I could download (very nice), and the Lagaan soundtrack, so far.

    M.I.A. -- "Galang" on XL

I quite like it, but then the fact that I know fuck-all about dancehall, grime or ragga, live in the US, and was eleven when the "Connection"/"Three Girl Rhumba" debacle happened and have no opinion one way or the other re: Justine Frischmann might have something to do with it... Stelfox...

    John Carpenter soundtracks

Not sure if it's what you have in mind, but there's a mix on Gooom Disques' site that makes interesting use of the theme from Christine : http://www.gooom.com/mix.php
