It seems to fall under the umbrella of minimal techno but i'll be damned if it doesn't fill a huge void in my new music listening habits that i'm always desperate to fill i.e. lack of new a.r.t/b12/early warp/likemind type music.
Is anyone even producing this old sound in any capacity any more...
A friend and I were recently discussing how we really miss this era of techno and spent a deal of time fawning over C&C comps and old Force things. I really feel like this was the paramount moment for the genre. It may just be a response to a combination of things, overpopulation, saturation...
The Gui actually grew on me a little bit ('Terminal' is undeniable if you ask me)
Beautiful Life is sort of LOL-worthy, though.
Moving on, this Shawn Rudiman w/ Arne Weinberg is good and i'm sorting through the Dan Deacon album and while it may be a bit frenetic for what I want right now it's...
Only one I can really get into here is the Tensnake rmx. Not really surprising, Jr boys remix track record has been pretty poor so far IMO - i.e. Fennesz rmx
EDIT: and the Kode9 rmx. Blech.
I guess the Marsen Jules one is fine really but if i'm hearing a Jr boys rmx I want some groove
Does Pantha du Prince remind anyone else of some Gescom material?
I still don't like Pantha as much as many others seem to do. There are a few spectacular stand-outs, Walden 2 and Steiner Im Flug, especially, but it seems like a bit too much unresolved tension. What do you guys think?
I know /most/ of you guys don't care for idm, but here's the new Clark single for "Ted". It has a wonderful re-imagining of the title by Bibio.

I really like Lawrence and Sten's material in set form as well as ther mixes. Even moreso than their albums which always have less of an impact on my music listening than I anticipate. You should check that Paul Keeley set upthread, it's wonderful.
Speaking of mixes, Basic Sounds has a great Lawrence set up, as well as links to the new Gui Boratto, Mikkel Metal, Hug, Alex Smoke, and other similar things...
So, based on your strong endorsements of Bodzin, I decided to get a few things, and I must say I am very impressed. Mostly the Black Ice EP on Gigolo. Thanks. I actually put that EP on Senduit for those who haven't heard it. (2006)

Cheers.
That's what I like most about this one over "Absence". Love both records but definitely prefer the more restrained approach on the newest.
Oh yeah, "Lynch",
Holy shit.
