    Arthurmag is no more...

Such a sad fate, but according to an LA Times article, they may be on a hiatus, but the future of the mag seems very unclear still. The last issue had a really nice and lengthy article by Alan Moore that I really enjoyed. I couldn't really make my self real Bull Tongue, though.

    WOEBOT.tv

Your video was great! But yes, a bit of boost on the audio would be nice. But otherwise, it was very informative and everything flowed really well. I also like how you handled the visuals. I was thinking the entire time whether you did a voiceover or spoke with that headgear!

    Favorite band names?

Japanese bands seem to always have very good names: No Fucker Les Rallizes Denudes (What does this MEAN???) Boris BUST MONSTERS High Rise etc.

    Red Sparowes/Pelican/Isis/Khanate

Khanate's Thing Viral is the way to go out of these bands, although I've never heard anything by Red Sparrows. Isis and Pelican are OK in my book. The riff repetition gets too boring, and doesn't too to well live, unless you're drunk and want to bob your head to them with a million other...

    SISTER RAY (the song) discussion

It's great that this song is brought up by this board. I work as a projectionist at the college-run movie theater here, and the closing song for the movie "Brick" is a very abridged version of Sister Ray. And man, is it dirty! The funny thing is that they cut the song short right after Lou Reed...

    italo disco

These comps look good, but none of them have my favorite Italo Disco group, Baby's Gang.

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers thread (not much love to be found here)

Ha! A RHCP thread! I was reading about them on Wikipedia a couple weeks ago. Their material is stuff for the frat boys, although I did enjoy their single "Aeroplane" when I was first exposed to mainstream alternative radio in middle school. It was probably the only thing enjoyable I was exposed...

    METAL! Discuss

True, but there's enough crossover appeal for any punk-hardcore or metal fan. :p

A friend gave me an Unsane album recently. It was quite good! But I'm somewhat partial towards metal.

Famous Artists who designed Record Sleeves.

Gary Panter is the first name that came up on my mind when I saw this thread. He recently came to my university to speak and showed some of his old record art. He also was the head set designer for Pee Wee's Playhouse. If anyone is aware of the Rhode Island noise scene, his artwork is very...

    Delia and Gavin.

They made it on the cover of Arthur Magazine recently. Go pick one up if you see one because they're free! Otherwise, you can download it from their website www.arthurmag.com. They talk about their art and having some new age tendencies.

The Artic Monkeys are Stump with a hip producer

Yes! I was thinking of the whole ska-punk phenomenon when I first heard their single. Whoever mentioned Snuff earlier is quite dead-on. All we need is a couple of horn players and we've got the Fourth-wave of Ska.

    Sly Stone at the Grammys

The video you posted is shared as private. I did find one sort of...http://www.youtube.com/?v=cwZ0sjh12GU. You'll have to skip half way to see less than 10 seconds of Sly.

"Broken Ear Record" by Black Dice

Terrestial Tones's first album wasn't too interesting to me. It seemed more background noise than Black Dice. I wouldn't call them entirely a noise band. They have a lot of rhyhm and the guitar playing adds nice harmonic effects. Determining good noise is another issue that I can't respond to...

"Broken Ear Record" by Black Dice

I'm more interested in their artwork and videos usually than their music. Broken Ear Record is much better than Creature Comforts. Like they finally managed to feel at ease without their drummer. By the way, has anyone seen them when they were a violent improvy sort of band? I've heard crazy...
