Yeah other people had suggested the wayback machine, but that only goes back so far as 1999, which is where the reviews that have been archived on the site stop as well. What I need is anything from before 1998.

The first installment, on the Capsoul label, is terrific, especially the four tracks by a group called Johnson, Hawkins, Tatum & Durr. Deep City label isn't bad either. You do have to watch out for tedious curiosities with Numero, though.
