Underground Africa

The last few years have seen a number of underground music scenes cropping up from Africa, it’s diaspora and it’s musical traditions (not to mention the great Pop that’s come out of the former British West Africa). For the most part the music hasn’t been groundbreaking enough to gain traction as individual threads, so I thought this thread could encompass the various strands of arty/underground stuff that’s coming out:

did you miss the kwaito and afrobeats threads?

Afrobeats refers to Azonto and Naija which are more poppy, so wouldn't fit into this thread.

I know there are threads for Kwaito and Gqom, but thought it would be better to a have a streamlined thread considering individually these genres garner little enthusiasm on the forum.

No problem, it is a bit of a clumsy title. Can someone let me know how I go about changing the title?
