i can probably say more about reggae in the development of hip hop than salsa or other latin musics, but the reason that I added the Nuyorican bit is for one because latinos played a key role in the development of early hip hop in new york, places like the south bronx...

i havent gotten a chance to check out the doc yet, but was curious as to how you think that hip hop originated in africa? this was a pretty interesting comment to hear, and i would love to hear you (or anyone else) explain.
