    Great 2 Step?

Chris Mac - Dubplate Style and others on First Class Records Sovereign put out some good beats, as did KMA. Look for V.I.P label and first two releases on Bug Records - some MJ Cole-produced tracks.

    Great 2 Step?

Not that obscure, but Steve Gurley is great: Bullitproof (Steve Gurley remix) - Breakbeat Era or All Nite Jam (Steve Gurley mix) - Zed Bias & DJ Principal are two examples... See 'Ordinary People' on Social Circles label too.

I'm aware of that - thanks - but was considering it against the fact that a lot of peeps just play CDs these days. A well-cut dub will sound better than an unmastered CD, for sure, but doesn't change the fact that only in dubstep does the dubplate still rule the roost, compared to the 'music...

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

that's an interesting point. if there are financial 'barriers' to putting dubstep tunes out, I don't know how peeps can spend money cutting dubz... certainly dj's I know - DnB through to broken beat - play the new shizzle off CD these days.

    Ms Dynamite LP

or you could do a Rebel MC - score a UK chart hit in 1989 and then mutate into a pioneer of the jungle sound a few years later! Rebel MC was with Double Trouble for the tune 'Street Tuff', a group that also included Karl 'Tuff Enuff' Brown of later UK Garage fame... ;)

u gotta keep ur eye on dnb..

funny you should say that, sounds like the sample is taken from sudden def's 'let it hit dem' from 1992 on reinforced, also sampled in an early bad company tune (forget the name)... it's 1 minute into this clip: http://hardcorewillneverdie2.com/archive/new/letithit.ram ;)

    Jump-up anyone?

why too early? those frontline and ganja tracks set the blueprint for that style, standard! imitated by countless subsequent tunes...
