no new thread on this topic for 10 years+ afaics, could be wrong? (of course this may really be the long lost dot rotten thread anyway)
Talk about Grime in dub then, how this music works without chat, what are it's features? is there something about the beats required for them to be chattable on?
For me (using my masterchef voice now) there's a lack of roughness compared to the lyrics themselves, and compared to the lyric versions, with some nicely pretentious efforts towards being proper musical - using samples of classical instruments anyway. You've got some really elegant and attractive sounds, much more listenable in their own right than say 90's ragga riddims or rap backing tracks (imho obvs)
explain me the development of the genre - you know i don't come around the music section much. Could it survive in the wild on it's own, how might it evolve next?
got any good mixes? any outlier-type weird oddity type examples?
or just post some utubes, it's all fine
not heard that one before. its really really good. guy probably deserves his own thread to recongise his contributions
