London pirate station, '95-'96

Question for ageing ravers - did Dead By Dawn in Brixton have an accompanying pirate radio broadcast?

I remember some station, around '95-'96, playing industrial/speedcore techno and gabba, etc, usually on Saturday evenings and easily/clearly picked up around Camberwell/Peckham. Anyone got a clue what this might have been?

I don't think there was a station with a direct link. There is a snippet of radio on the Dead by Dawn compilation LP (PRAXIS 23 iirc) which includes the DJ talking about the forthcoming Dead by Dawn though.

Ask Praxis Records on twitter...

There was a show called something like RedZeroRadio on one of the early incarnations of Resonance FM which played this sort of stuff. This would be when Resonance was based in place on Brixton Hill.

Also Controlled Weirdness did a few pirate shows I think.

Around that time there were a few different crews doing those sort of parties - Hekate, Crossbones, VFM. See Prole Sector's Instagram for flyers: https://www.instagram.com/prole_sector/

Ah OK, perhaps harder to pin it down than I first thought. I used to have tapes from various broadcasts, but they've long oxidised.

Pretty sure there was a website with those flyers too (esp the Crossbones one) which also had a section on Stewart Home's/Blaggers ITA bloke's 'DSC' rave project...

Will spend the rest of the afternoon looking at flyers

It was a good site, I remember him doing reviews of some free parties and bemoaning clueless ravers' lack of torches and sensible footwear when they were held in shonky warehouses.

Also he has kept to the brand as https://twitter.com/streetforce023

Cool, followed. Nice flow of coincidences today - looking up info on 'Underground' zine too, then Matthew Fuller from Underground pops up on timeline in relation to pirate radio doc, etc.

Out of interest, as you were well acquainted with that crowd/scene - were Nasenbluten popular or well regarded? Or viewed as politically dodgy?

The Bloody Fist label had an interview in an early issue of Datacide, so critical support methinks, comrades:
