wHO IS THE CLEVERST ON ON DISSENSUS?

Tentative Andy

I'm in the Meal Deal
I miss Nomad. Also Josef K, Swears and a few other people.
I'm not particularly clever, but I'm sure I used to be a little less dumb than I am now - which is kind of worrying.

nomad tried to transcribe roll da beats in musical notation to prove jungle was shit lool

Thanks for reminding me of that, possibly my favorite Dissensus moment ever. Hadn’t thought of it in ages. Pretty sure it was a Remarc tune she was going to transcribe tho. One of his crazy Amen rinseouts. I miss Nomad.

she got on my nerves most of the times but now i do miss her. i am firmly in favour of flamboyance. its a bit drab at the moment. got to do all the heavy lifting myself..

Nomad was funny, she was clearly smart in certain specialised ways but she was terrible at telling when someone was joking or not being entirely serious. Also I've never seen anyone put as much effort into appearing nonchalant or not bothered by something as she used to.

Slothrop

Tight but Polite
K-Punk was pretty clever. But he mainly seemed to use his intelligence to try to objectively demonstrate that anyone with different taste in music from him was an inherently worse person for it.

I think meself and Tea have probably got the most letters after our names, but that probably tells you more about the difference between specialized knowledge and general intelligence than it does about how clever we are.

i wouldnt say that. i dont think tea can compete with me on my territory but he makes a much better fist of it than if i tried to compete with him on his territory.

i dont know you or where your talents lie but im sure the same would apply where youre concerned. im very good at what im good at and helpless otherwise. my guess is the same is true of most people here.

You got a PhD, Slothrop? There must be a few people here who have. I screwed mine up, well got fed up with it anyway, took an MPhil in the end (which, I suppose, does have more letters...).

Luka's pretty much the official Dissensus poet laureate. I enjoy writing silly bits of purple-prose fiction but I wouldn't have a clue where to start with poetry. I'm vaguely getting into David Jones via my girlfriend though, and it was cool to find that luka's into him too.

Yeah yeah, I saw that, it was cool. I'd thought you'd C/P'd the whole thing, poem plus notes, from somewhere, so props on all the definitions. I guess I can start with the biggies, Ana and IP, as soon as she's had her viva (which is tomorrow) and done whatever corrections she needs to do. So far all I've done is read small snippets here and there to check the refs in her thesis, so I haven't read any of his stuff properly yet, though I think I've got a feel for his style from these bits and pieces.

I hadn't realised they were personalised. I'm sure they'll come in handy when I read the full poems properly.
