Goa

Its a terrible shame whats happening there.

I was in Goa for a few days last summer when there were hardly any tourists there, so we had these beautiful beaches practically all to ourselves (though we did get a bit of rain). If we'd gone a couple of months later it would have been just like Benidorm or something. I'd definitely recommend a visit, but I would avoid the December peak season when it becomes tourist hell. Its very different from the rest of India.

One thing I noticed driving around Goa was the huge advertising billboards literally every 50 yards or so at the sides of the roads, a horrible blight on such a beautiful country (never seen so many palm trees!). You get this a lot in other parts of India, but it seemed particularly bad in Goa.

Oh, and the food in Goa is absolutely fantastic, especially the fish. I wish I was back there now!
