All of these are later than freez so Simon wins. Great records though, all send a tingle up the spine, lovely, electric

there was also the Art of Noise early records like "Beat Box".

was a pretty quick thing to discover, that you could put a vocal noise on a keyboard and riff it

and they had to be truncated and stabby, because the sample time was only a second and a half or something like that. crazy limitation, but afforded so much delight and invention.

i don't think i ever heard 'Just Buggin' - wonderful stuff. (great video too)

Nu Shooz is a real charmer, they still play that on 80s radio here

another early vocal-stabby with John Robie involved as co-producer - starts getting wiggy from about 3.55 and really gets to be like a "solo" from about 4.20
