Land thinks Dugin is a Eurasian ethno-socialist (aka "the enemy"). I doubt Dugin has ever heard of Land.

loath i am to agree with Vim Land looks like a toy to Dugin. Dugin's praxis is far more worked out than Land's (doesn't mean it isn't bullshit obvs), his ideas have actually penetrated much mainstream discourse, though not directly his doing. Land is just arty school crap still that 500 people know about max. High ups in the turkish govt read Dugin. they wouldn't make sense of Land's amphetamine addled crap.

I'll go for the moment with Liberal-Conservative-Socialist.

fuck me your life must be so unspeakably dull if you can even toy with such a nonsense construction in 2017. It's not the 19th century where conservative socialism meant charity by the largesse whilst campaigning for the dignified carlylean man. a stupid idiot who is so obsessed with existentialism that for all his nattering on about accelerationism is a tech house and ambient trance decelerationist, noooooo, don't hurt me. pathetic mate, pathetic. luke should have told me about you in 2018 and i would have gladly gone to prison and proudly pleaded guilty to ur shooting.

Evil cunts aren't going to disappear if only enough people call them evil cunts. We need an opposition, and right now there isn't one. America is even more of a headcase at the moment. It's a fucking disaster.

Be the change you want to see.

Haven't we just been discussing taboos here? An art gallery in London held a series of shows about the alt-right, and was shut down. A bookshop in Berlin planned a talk on Evola, and was shut down.

ribbing aside, They aren't taboos though are they? The real taboo in 2019 would be trying to see something appealing (rather than the cliched brainwashed analyses) in radical islamism. no leftist could do this, the swp's crude anti-imperialism doesn't count.

this is the only ever piece that comes close. makes Olivier Roy and them lot look like old relics.

very quotable. not sure rational assessment of the appeal of islamism is more of a taboo than rational assessment of the appeal of fascism, however. in fact the two posses an underlying equivalence that the article makes clear. it also, in the end, draws well clear of the ultimate taboo (islamism is appealing for good reasons), so let's not get over-excitied

Mr. Tea

Let's Talk About Ceps
I'm reminded of Orwell's line about how both capitalism and socialism essentially offered people the hope of a materially better life through work, but that this couldn't compete with Hitler's offer to the German people of "struggle, danger and death".

But yeah, the article offers good reasons why relatively privileged but bored and alienated youngsters might find jihadism appealing but stops well short of recommending it, as such.

that's really a central idea for understanding land's philosophy, though - this extreme form of eliminative materialism - which is closely related to or motivating his interest in AI

What did you make, if anything, of the AI article.
, given you're an AI sceptic.
