The way I remember it praise ye jah, black woman & child and the reggae max compliation all come out in 97 and they are all equally great. Music club always compiled their releases well and we're always dirt cheap. I do miss the cd buying times

There has been a specific summer in which I was dealing with a specific problem and I literally played this song hundreds of time. It was the warmest summer ever.

When he's doing it right his voice is so beautiful.

As an experiment play the baby Pump up the Pun Pun and see what he/she does.

He had a great run from '97-'2000. The aforementioned + Goodways, Kalonji, royal son, ending with bobo ashanti. His first LP is pretty strong. Tons of great singles too, mostly collected on that reggae max comp.

I love Reggae Max, all killer no filler

(the bass line sampled for "paid in full")

(this look needs to come back)

    (aka Hollywood Beyond)

(Gina X Performance, bass line stolen by the Bollocks Brothers for "The Bunker")

    Joni Mitchell - Coyote (1976)

I started listening to Hejira this week, after learning that it was one of the CDs Prince bought from a local record store in support of record store day.

^ i've been checking out the swan silvertones because of prince

i recently got that Deutsche Harmonia Mundi 50cd box set so i've been heavy into that old music (if it qualifies?) lately

just popped on that miles davis original mono box set - that should hit soon - just because i don't own ascenseur pour l'echafaud in a physical format (that matters to me for some reason)

Listening to a ton of late 70's early 80's new-wave synth-pop - some great obscurities on Youtube.
