Moby named in connection with congressional investigation into Donald Trump and Deutsche Bank - https://www.residentadvisor.net/news/44523

According to the Times story from reporter David Enrich, Moby met Val Broeksmit, the son of late Deutsche Bank executive Bill Broeksmit, at a party in Los Angeles this year. Enrich says Moby introduced the younger Broeksmit to California representative Adam Schiff, who is leading an investigation into the relationship between Trump and Deutsche Bank. Broeksmit has been subpoenaed and has released info to the FBI, Congress and the federal reserve.

Did they find out about it because Moby bragged about it in his recent book?

polls out yesterday show a change in voters views on moving ahead with impeachment: one has a 13-point swing in less that a month, yes 49% (+7 points) no 47% (-6 points). Another poll has yes at 54%.

If public opinion continues to move in that direction (and it very well could as more evidence and testimony comes out), republicans will eventually be forced to cross a threshold of trump versus self interest. if the majority of voters want trump impeached, more of the GOP will start to support it. they oppose it now because they are scared of trump's popularity. if that disappears, so will GOP support for him. lots of republicans still care about saving their party, trump couldn't care less about the party.

not making any predictions, but the winds have changed more than I would have imagined in just a week.

I didn't read that last paragraph, thought it was just gonna be standard filler/context. Apparently a mistake.

Darned cockwombles.
So, for Trump to be impeached, there has to be a two thirds majority in the Senate, where the Republicans have a majority? Holy shit.

It took an extra scandal/tape to tip Republicans over the edge to support impeachment in 1974; at least with Trump, there can be no shortage of scandals that may come to light.

Presumably, obviously, trump is dead right about Biden being up to his eyeballs in corruption. Possibly not anything which is explicitly illegal just the run of the mill corruption endemic to the system. The corruption which is expected of the powerful.

Trump 'Fawning' to Putin and other Authoritarians in 'Embarrassing' Phone Calls, White House Aides Say—Report - https://www.newsweek.com/donald-tru...thoritarians-embarrassing-phone-calls-1463352

Trump upended long-term U.S. strategy during his calls, for example promising to support Saudi Arabia's entry into the G7 group of nations. "The G-7 is supposed to be the allies with whom we share the most common values and the deepest commitment to upholding the rules-based order," one former official told the Post.

The president also reportedly ignored the grave human rights abuses in the Philippines, where President Rodrigo Duterte has been waging a zero tolerance campaign against drug dealers and users, in which thousands have been killed.

During an April 2017 call, Trump told Duterte that he was doing an "unbelievable job on the drug problem," the Post reported.

Officials said it was a constant battle to keep Trump on track. "You had two to three minutes max," one former senior administration official said. "And then he was still usually going to say whatever he wanted to say."

Another said aides quickly had to come to terms with his unconventional, and at times embarrassing, manner. "People had gotten really numb to him blurting out something he shouldn't have," one former national security staffer told the Post.

Officials were also concerned that calls with long-time U.S. allies often did not go as smoothly as those with strongmen and dictators. "People who could do things for him—he was nice to," one former security official said. "Leaders with trade deficits, strong female leaders, members of NATO — those tended to go badly."

Do you mean that you think it's wrong that choosing Biden will rerun 2016? If so, why?

Does Warren have a similar scandal?

I think Gabbard, Bernie or Yang would be their best options in terms of winning over wobbling Republicans but Bernie's just had a heart attack and the other two are kind of small fry and probably don't have the clout to muscle their way past Warren and Biden.

I think that the heart attack is the end for the Sanders' dream isn't it?

Wrong. If they choose Warren after Hillary, it will all be a bonafide 2016-rerun.

aside from being women, warren and hillary have little if anything in common. perhaps you just mean warren being nominated would be a sure trump victory?

warren's run an excellent campaign so far, working hard and steadily growing her base of support from the single digits. she'll need to expand that base a lot more with African Americans and middle-age/older white males to be a serious threat to trump, though.

Yeah, bad luck for him I guess.
Anyway, have you seen that a NY court has rejected his (Trump's) attempt to prevent the release of his tax returns in order to investigate the Stormy Daniels payment?
