Yeah, properly looking forward to Ka and Roc Marci's albums this year. Sremmlife 2 also.

New 21 Savage tape produced entirely by Metro Boomin

Who does 21 Savage remind me of? That kind of rapping where it's barely even bothered enough to be rapping. Beats are grimey on this.

I need to listen to YG's album again and give Schoolboy Q a shot also.

I really really like this.

He went from Starbucks to artist relations for Serato. The classic career curve.

You ever tempted to live in Cali Luka? Legal piff and all that.

Is it easy(ish) being a rap DJ nowadays? What with Serato and Traktor etc there's surely not much to it? (Other than selection of course.)

Mind you your mate seems to be doing some fancy shit.

I sometimes think I'd like to live in Southern California but I'd have no friends and all my friends would be a 13 hour flight away.

California was a target for me back when I was a skateboarder for obvious reasons. It's also the only US state I've visited. I went to San Francisco, Santa Barbara and Disneyland with my family when I was about 12. Barely remember it. But it's where I bought my first rap album, on cassette. ICE T - RETURN OF THE REAL.

Big fan of the Rhianna into Kevin Gates mix. '2 Phones' is undeniable. He fucked his cousin who cares,,,

It's great hearing modern rap/rnb mixed so well. What other DJs do this?

This Drake tune 'Hype' is also undeniable, as much as I hate the cunt.

This mix is doing for me what you were talking about with techno mixes - recontextualising them, making me appreciate them more. 'Low Life' e.g. I thought was decent but in the mix somehow it shines more.

This isn't anything amazing but it stuck out for me while trawling through HNHH
