Great. If he can be arsed to rank them that'd be even better. If he does, Luka do you mind private messaging his ballot to me?

Fire Fox & 4-Tree - Warning (Powder Mix)

Thats two people going for for the wrong remix, plus Luka's ambiguous vote.

Must be a mistake, right? Its the stretch mix. Its always been the stretch mix.

Ranking jungle is not all that easy, to be fair. So many tunes are equally fantastic.

like even just ranking the best tune from one particular artist is hard enough.

for example i'm finding it literally IMPOSSIBLE to decide which is better between maximun style and airfreshner (never mind all the other 4 hero stuff)

or valley of the shadows/dark stranger remix

i can't understand it/roll the beats/gunshot?

being with you/open your eyes remix/null lines remix/renegade snares remix???

impossible

ah cheers for finding that for me, but sorry I still prefer the powder mix - the intro is more head-fucky, the main bassline is better imo and the stretch mix doesn't have the sleng teng bits.

Well, they both have the Sleng teng bits as its in the sample, but its louder in the powder mix. Regardless, Im weeping inside.

Think Ill just listen to this instead

Hope this works... I ve done lists on my discogs profile of the UK Hardcore Early Jungle - Jungle - DnB roughly according to release dates, based on the actual months (with the help of reviews and DJ playlists in magazines since Iwas a bit too young to have caught the early stuff myself). I think Jungle began in the autumn of 1992 so here are my first few lists:

https://www.discogs.com/lists/UK-Hardcore-Early-Jungle-1992-09/242041

Favs from that month:
Trip II The Moon pt 1 and 2
Kaotik Chemistry - LSD EP
Rufige Cru - Darkrider

https://www.discogs.com/lists/UK-Hardcore-Early-Jungle-1992-10/242043

Favs from that month:
Acen ‎– Trip II The Moon (Kaleidoscopiklimax)
Bay-B-Kane – The Return Of Bay-B-Kane
Egyptian Empire - The Horn Track
Enforcers Vol1
Foul Play Vol2
Jungle House Crew ‎– Total Kaos E.P.
Mastersafe ‎– Aspirations E.P.
Oaysis ‎– Loft Conversion E.P.

https://www.discogs.com/lists/UK-Hardcore-Early-Jungle-1992-11-12/243915

Favs from November/December '92:

4 Hero - Journey From The Light
A Guy Called Gerald - Like A Drug
Dance Conspiracy - Dub War
Nebula II - Peace Maker/X-Plore-H-Call and the Remix EP
Prodigy - Out Of Space
Nino - The Gun
Wots My Code - Dubplate
Oaysis - Incredible Bass
Tek 9 - Del De go go
The Brothers Grimm - Exodus/Field of Dreams

I might come up with a list of favs ... but it's so hard to pick. That stuff/era was so brimming with excellent material.

Has anyone actually given you an actual 1-100 ranking?

Might it be more realistic to rank according to frequency?

I've only had one private ballot so far. It was a top 50 that's vaguely ranked.

I'm hoping I can get a few specifically ranked ballots (or at least ballots that are ranked in bundles of 10) and I'll supplement those with any remaining long lists that haven't been ranked specifically.

The best thing to do would be to try and rank ballots as best you can, even if you can't get a specific, numbered list.

Of course the methodology will change if necessary.
