Revive the blogosphere

Annoyingly great proposal for (re-)opening up online social space.

e.g.
  • connected "likes"/"favorites" between different services,
  • search engine for frequently-updated sites like news sites and blogs
  • identity or login system, ... using pseudonymous identities that aren’t tied to one’s high-visibility social networking profiles.
  • Aggregation, syndication,
  • useful metadata,
simple and irritatingly obvious in hindsight

I wish forums and Blogs would make a comeback but NO, that train has left the station. In fact, the last few forums are getting deserted currently, and blogs being shut down. People simply traded more/better(more insightful information for "convenience" - meaning easy "sharing" and artificial "involvement" via constant social media alerts. Oh and PCs for smartphones.

i see people communicating in comments boxes now more than on forums, but even then its mostly just about shouting others down, making your point the loudest, rather than discussion.

maybe once people get tired of having to always log in to social media and use your real name to comment in many places, the old forum formats where you can be anon will make a comeback.
