J COLE - HIGH FOR HOURS
so far the only run the jewels album i really liked was the one where they sampled only cat noises but i really like the new one. their best so far IMO. the song with danny brown is also better than anything on his last album. #rapbymiddleagedmenformiddleagedmen

i hope they get other producers to remix their stuff. el-p was best when he was noisier.
My main problem with RTJ is El-P rapping. I quite like the beats in the tunes you posted. That 80s style 808 boom. Didn't make me want to check the album tbh but RTJ isn't really my thing.
Can Danny Brown actually do anything but that squawky voice these days? You could practically pick any verse he's done in the past few years and switch it with that one and I'd be hard pressed to notice.

i never understood why people hated him as a rapper, except that it seems a holdover opinion from the 90s for a lot of ppl who were into rawkus at the time.
as a producer i think he peaked a decade or more ago.
but i dont begrudge mr independent as fuck making a bit of money. hes done it his way, more or less, even if hes softened the edges.
Hot Take: Killer Kill has fallen off further than el-P ever could as a rapper, its El's production that's really become horrible for me to listen to.
Hey, horrible FOR ME! People are entitled to hear him sample guitar feedback to sound like vacuums b/c he thinks it sounds like John Carpenter, but I'll take him doing weird sample chops personally!
