Last night I made a playlist of all the Future songs produced by MikeWillMadeIt that I could find on Spotify:

You're a gem corpse. Mike will produced two of my favourite rap albums of the 2010's (though I was underwhelmed by Ransom 2). Future and young thug are the probably the best two artists of the 2010's.

I started doing a playlist last night of just Future stuff. I intended to listen to his whole post-Pluto run. Obviously didn't get that far but considering I only just got up to 'Monster' there are a lot of bangers. (Note: some of the tracks I've included aren't my favourite tracks but help show his evolution , e.g. the first track off 'Honest', which show how poppy he was trying to go in those days.)

I ditched the concept, too, and starred adding pre-Pluto tracks too. A lot of his notable tapes, esp. pre-Pluto, aren't on Spotify, unfortunately.

anybody here listen to that Playboi Carti album? more importantly did anybody like it?

Just started listening to this, the first beat by Harry Fraud is gawjus.

Whatever happened to Clams Casino btw? Even more importantly, whatever happened to Clams Casino x Lil B collaborations?

BTW: that was a subliminal connection I made, but I actually think this music is reminiscent of Main Attrakionz and co a bit. Rapping that is very loose and off-kilter, mystically-tinged beats, with a trap beat underneath. If you listened to this for rappity-rapping you'd be thinking this is the end of the world lolll

Luka did you ever used to buy HHC magazine?

I remember the mild furore caused by Pete Cashmore when he claimed that women by and large are shit rappers. Heady days.

Sorry, I will engage with the young MA stuff shortly.

Or maybe slightly later on reflection. I had letter of the month when biggie died. I was sad about it.

It really influenced not only my taste but my way of thinking about/engaging with rap music. It was written by neeky white suburban types like me and they kind of owned their own geekiness and Britishness rather than concealing it. I've always assumed martorialist comes out of that HHC/FAT LACE mileau.
