wiley of course gets a lot of that, trim tried to build a whole new career out of that.

there's no doubt that the further you take something from its original context the more likely audiences are to enjoy it in the 'wrong' way and that that enjoyment is often tinged with patronising attitudes, with classism, racism, fetishisation or with open contempt. it happened with the lionisation of cam'ron and it happened with grime.

but stormin' was still great and i loved listening to him and a lot of other people did too. he was very good at what he did.

But variety and straight ahead sound kinda diametrically opposed nah

I agree with you on road rap not having enough characters, fully fledged personalities etc in comparison to grime, but MCs like stormin aren't the guys to hold up as shining examples of that stuff imo

Shout him regardless though, someone come through with the classic nasty sets pls

meant variety over the crew not embodied in stormin. dee, sharky, stormin' hyper, etc all sound different to one another and approach the thing differently
