"There he is on the back cover, assuming the stance of a man warming the backs of his legs over a log fire, with wispy white hair, with specs, tapestry waistcoat, crimson cravat, and tight, dutiful, chinny smile. He doesn’t look like a man of iron, but there’s definitely something steely about him. He is unironical about himself, and naively vain... Mr Bly wants respect; he has plenty of bristles and prickles; like Bronco toilet-paper, he takes no shit from anyone. He is, in fact, that familiar being, the ‘strong personality’. This kind of strength is innate and not acquired, and is always looking for ways to expand. ‘Zeus energy is male authority accepted for the sake of the community’. It sounds like a marvellously elemental excuse for getting away with everything. Zeus energy, ‘hurricane energy’: here is something that sweeps all before it. Would you want to tell Zeus to take out the garbage? Would you want to ask a hurricane to wipe its feet on the mat?"

Is dragon energy a subtype of Zeus energy, or vice-versa?

Zizek and Peterson linked by their oddball qualities, which are surely instrumental in establishing them on such a huge stage. It's not just the ideas, it's Zizek's slobbering gesticulating and Peterson's constipated voice and his 'bloody' this and 'bloody' that. 'It's aboot cleaning your bloody room!'

So no one else is a fan of JP's lectures on DMT and Disney films? I'm the only one?! As far as his public persona, don't you think some of it is reading/playing to the crowd? Maybe he's just assuming the father role Gen X'ers were never equal to so you millennial media consumption/porn/wank addicts don't end up, you know, incel and depressed/angry about it. Eat some steak with your bare hands. Punch a grown man in the face. Don't rape a woman but force your will on her. And fucking wake up: the Russia/Syria/Iran axis is sodomizing you (Western civilization), and it's like you blame yourself or your parents and just accept it. (Pretend to) be a man!

    Almost done.

No kidding. Some things never change. Maybe I'm immune to the hysteria and jouissance that drives these hyperbolic debates about identity politics. It just sounds like everyone proclaiming their identity at the same time, just trying to drown out anyone who doesn't fit their prototype of what a person is supposed to be. It's all just noise signifying nothing, post-semantic groupthink, debates that arrive at nothing and just keep spiraling down the drain. Ever since social media started consuming every aspect of life, identity politics has become the pathetic dying whimper of political, philosophical, and intellectual discourse. This applies to both ends of the political spectrum, which have become absurd self-parodies. Future generations are watching and laughing, trust me.

Anyone interested in JP in his professional, not public, persona as a psychoanalyst should check out his university lectures (mostly in front of young women). Some good ones:

Why you shouldn't lie and the truth about DMT:

I'm a huge fan. Hard to state in public in here, though. All the commotion around him is mostly caused by bad-faith readings by dimwit journalists, really.

His university lectures are a prime example of how to lecture about extremely complicated problems in a way that most should be able to follow. His lectures before he got (in)famous are more humorous and sprawling, and I prefer those after he got a public figure and started his paleo diet.
