When Vultures Cry is great, I dunno how it ended up on my Spotify playlists but I've often been struck by how odd it is. I think Kodak is one of the standout rap artists ATM (based on my paltry knowledge of current rap admittedly).

I'll check out the rest since i'm so out of the loop.

Kodak is amazing though I don't think he's ever topped his first release - "No Flockin"" - amazing to hear Loose Ends on When Vultures Cry.

WVC sounds weird 'cos he was locked up before it could be mastered. See also the "Patty Cake" video for more of him turning his absence into a strength. I think one of the notable things about Kodak is how he uses his grief and builds it into his songs. Lots of the best rappers do this, and it gives him an emotional range and depth lacking in the straighter gangster shit.

glad to see Bloxk Party up so high,Detroit has alot of great rappers right now also Drego put out a tape with a guy called Beno called "Sorry for the get off"

Where i've been is good but for me "Crying in the car" is the stand out Starlito track, the Drakeo the Ruler Musty freestyle is FIRE and better than the original track also "Wake me up in traffic" is a nice breezy track.

I think im one of the few people in the world who doesn't like Kings Dead and the only reason people say that Future verse is good is cause of the slob on me knob bit but otherwise its not different from his other middling verses.

surprised to see JPEG getting alot of love but i think Crowley put it best to me when he said "hes the death grips that you're allowed to like"

also considering the year he's had i can think of at least 4 other songs that i think are better than "Saks Fith" but its no big deal

at the end of this year i'm beginning to question my opinion on Mach Hommy

That Ambition track is madly arresting, never heard anything quite like it, especially not from a then 14 (?) year old..."easy to talk about money but it's harder to get it" etc

The importance of memeing yourself can't be overestimated these days

I reckon Future knew people would be talking about his verse on that if it had a legendarily terrible bit in it

I am completely unfamiliar with all this stuff. It was a rather nice surprise to find out there is a droning quality to it -at least to my foreign, non-native ears- which is strangely soothing.
Especially the Musty freestyle was notable, although I wouldn't call it fire exactly.
