    How often do you feel that you're learning something from it? Does engaging with it make you feel more or less in control of your environment? Does it feel 'real' to you?

    I was horrified, really viscerally appalled when I found Craner watching the television news first thing in the morning. To subject yourself to that electronic feed of fear and torture when you are at your most open, receptive, vulnerable. ... a terrible, terrible thing

    I tend to keep myself to glancing at the headlines on Reuters then go about my day. I rarely, if ever, watch televised news. It feels like it sucks the life out of you, particularly at the moment.

    not following the news is extremely liberating, I highly recommend it
