    Default Craner's Top 100

It's what the people are waiting for.

    Why?

    1. His taste is impeccable, but also idiosyncratic, especially on this forum, and I'm genuinely curious as to what would qualify.
    2. He always writes good stuff to accompany his COTD selections.

    How?

I would suggest a maximum one selection per day, with accompanying mini (or not) essay.

One choon per artist, so it isn't just 50 killah priest b-sides.

Here is Craner's Top 100 on Spotify, as it develops...

Thanks to Version for providing this rundown:

I hope Craner's silence is an indication that he's sequestered somewhere working on what is now set to be his magnum opus

I completely forget I submitted that hardcore list to you.

The jungle selection is pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Matthew Ingram inspected my record collection in 2003 and gave me top marks. In fact, he discovered The Infamous Mobb Deep that night if I recall. Iím sure Luke can vouch for this, as he was there, albeit quite pissed.

I wasn't remotely pissed. I was astonished, drunk with amazement that Matt had never heard of that canonical album.

This legendary international record collector who had never heard the central document of mid 90s east coast rap.

He remarked on my pristine copy of Technodelic, told me I was correct because I had the only YMO album worth owning.

There was also a panicky moment when he didnít recognise a Juice Box 12Ē I had, until he remembered what it was.

    It was an intense night!

When you went out for more wine he rubbed his balls on that juice box record. That made a deep impression on me. There was something so profoundly atavistic about it. Literally unzipped and rubbed them against the unsleeved vinyl.
