The device as venue. That David Byrne thing about music being tailored to its setting, stadium rock for stadiums and so on, and the latest development being the iPod/mp3 player/smart phone and music being built to sound good on those things, through low quality headphones and speakers. That point was made a while ago though so I guess the real latest venue is just the internet, music built to sound good online.

The Ideas Train
I think that still applies but just not so much in terms of sound - instead it's in terms of staging, how it looks. Blackdown was posting on Instagram about that recent FWD anniversary Boiler Room show and how brightly lit it was - completely geared not just for the broadcast itself but people there taking videos for Insta. Obviously this couldn't be further from the thing it was supposed to be commemorating.

Logan Paul vs KSI rematch.

Been wanting to watch Paul get K'd the f O. He looks and acts like the bad guy in the first karate kid. Whole thing is ridiculous but also compelling.

we talked in another thread about how some music nerds went deep into popular music...I know he sort of went that way all along but this is really head first into commercial stuff. Taylor swift, my chemical romance...not much underground there.

2010s have been "the Rogan decade" for me

Kettle bells elk meat and DMT

Luka either clocked or preempted Rogan when he highlighted Brock Lesnar as the new model for men on the very forum

Luka is always tapped into the zeitgeist
