The Savage God was one of the first serious literary books i read when i was about 18 and it had quite a profound effect on me. He certainly created a great reading list for me. He also produced a really great anthology called Night which i still dip into quite regularly. he was an old fashioned reader with enthusiasms like Colin Wilson never really at home inside the academy.
