'On Cinema' is the funniest thing in the last decade

Maybe the best, too. Anyone following it?

It's a highly ironic web-series that satires the proliferation of banal and sycophantic podcasts with pretentious and ego-centric hosts.

No comedy in the last decade comes anywhere near its level. The details, the verisimilitude, the character development, the intricacies of the relationship between the two hosts. Here's a recap of the show for anyone interested:

It's missing the last few seasons and ends right before Tim causes a tragic disaster at an EDM festival he's hosting, by selling poisonous vape pens.

I first heard of it when you posted it the other week and still need to take a proper look at it. I'm aware of Heidecker though, some of the Tim & Eric stuff was funny.

Gregg (real, not character) on On Cinema's satire being contemptful towards the contemporary movie industry:

Contemptful? Definitely. It feels to me like this whole industry is geared towards these big babies, you know? Kind of like, if you’re ever in an airport at 6 in the morning and you see all these guys–successful, older executives; business travelers–and what do they have for breakfast? A giant chocolate-chip cookie with M&M’s in it. It just really kind of stinks. You should have options for children and for people looking for escapism, but so much of this stuff, it really feels like it’s geared towards literal big babies.

Beast of Burden
Mark Cousins' The Story of Film: An Odyssey is probably funnier, although it definitely isn't supposed to be.

Check out this similarly meta meta shit:

The first series is on YT (linked from the article too) - the concept is to make a show about the previous episode of the show, but the filmmaker is such a desperado bastard that the whole thing starts unraveling immediately as he burns bridges relationships etc... i watched the first few episodes last night they are short and curly
I watched a chunk more last night - increasingly excruciating but also somewhat relatable,

the series is called "The Show about the Show", made by this guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caveh_Zahedi and was broadcast on a small Brooklyn channel called BRIC a couple of years ago.

i heard about it here:https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/30/magazine/caveh-zahedi-documentary-film.html " abject, self-defeating, ethically questionable, maddeningly original" It strikes me as quite dissenssusish - pomo and pot-smoking dad

hasn't anyone else come across it?
watch it here: tell us what you think
