It's some of the richest, most layered shit to come out of the dance music cannon in the last 10 years. It's subtle, it's not trying to impress you. In fact quite the opposite. It sends out signals that serve the dual purpose of deterring the non believers and speaking to the heads. It's also right up dissensus' alley with all the deconstruction and intellectual stuff. But yeah, def not for everyone.

You lot know, in your heart of hearts that this shit is unacceptable. Some 'ethnicy' percussion, soft shoe shuffle rhythms, some African American voices sampled from the 60s and 70s talking all smooth and rich lovely timbres, some gospelly organ squiggles, it's absolutely beyond the pale it's disgraceful. You gotta feel it in your soul baby let that groove get inside you don't be no square

I'm not anti that tune, seems nice enough, but not much more than that. The dick in the rectum is the one arresting element.

    conceptronic house.

I've always loved "midtown 120 blues", needs to be played as a whole as opposed to individual tracks. swimming, flowing. get lost in it.

her glitchy non-house concrete stuff on like mille plateau is the best. her house stuff is the ultimate whiteification but with some queer cred. fetishised new york blackness that even hip house made obsolete. in chicago they play their house music hard and fast.

does gay psytrance exist though? luke brings up an interesting point. it will have to. capitalism won't allow that not to be invented. suddenly out of thin air a new need will be created. not to queer psytrance, which noone wants anyway and noone historically wanted, but to convince people that it was always there to be reclaimed.
