the dub party was completely mad by the way.

dj pete i think was playing all unreleased dubplates, a solid 3 hour block of music, no "tunes", felt completely live.

all you rhythm and sound freaks would have orgasmed in your trousers itinually. i man no joke.

new material taking the classic warm and deep sound in new directions, ragga, dubstep, jungle -- properly done though, firmly rooted in the basic channel tradition, in wicked and HEAVY new dimensions. the deejays chatting was on point as well.

awe inspiring really. impressive/crazy that there is SO much new material, all unreleased. i left before that set was done, but what i heard can easily make a 3CD.

might have been a special set as i heard the other parties have been regular dj sets...

and of course that sound system was immense. and felt like it was operating only at 1/3 of full capacity, massive.

was good to meet a dissensian there but i don't think he stayed long enough to witness the wickedness... and another friend came around 12, after i left, and at that time it was a regular dj bizniss (still v. good but not that next level shit). that's the way they roll i guess, all cryptic and secretive with no announcements or nuthin. just sitting on all that music... a minor avalanche if they released just an EP of it.

I also failed to make it, I only got home from the previous evening's entertainment about 9pm. Was also at Sick Girls, yelled some attempts at conversation at a few of you Glasgow lot. Craig David was hilarious, the club went off.

my turn to have a trip to Berlin...interested in recommendations for interesting musical and cultural offerings (probably check out the Bauhaus exhibition but interested in other suggestions) around this w/end and through to Thursday. interested in things other than anything too TECHNO TECHNO as friend I'm staying with doesn't find that to be her thing. Suggestions more than gratefully received

the old theme park in treptower park, old dinosaurs and rollercoasters lying around

Up on Teufelsberg the old spy towers u can climb through a hole in fence and get pretty high up (insider tourist tip)

Thanks for these recommendations - particularly love the Teufelsberg recommendation - i attempted to cycle down the hill as a 5 year old and fell off and ended up in hospital with concussion so me and that place have history...

Returning to Berlin with bicycle this time round so keen to check out some of the off the beaten track corners

Yeah he was the main guy I talked to, can't remember his name though, I was pretty ruined myself. Don't know how he survived it to be honest, I was roasting in just a Tshirt. I also saw a guy in a multicoloured cap who I'm sure I have met in Glasgow a few times, I think we may well know a lot of the same people.

That Hotflush / Wax Treatment looks great, unfortunately I'm flying back to the UK that morning! Poor timing huh?
