Tight but Polite
Seen by a drinking fountain at a climbing wall in N London:

Printed sign: "THE WATER IN THIS FOUNTAIN IS FILTERED"

below that in biro: "through seven layers of volcanic rock"

and below that "and some socks."



Also, on "The Pavement" in Clapham, the street sign, which sticks up out of a pavement, has had "No Shit!" written on it.

I love the street sign for Varndell Street, just off Hampstead Road near Euston, which someone has helpfully and appropriately altered to 'Vandal Street'. See also: Pilldrop Crescent, formerly Hilldrop Crescent, in Holloway.

I've never been to Manchester but it gladens me to hear that the first letter in the sign for Canal Street gets painted out with predictable regularity.
