Have you seen the film, Luke? I think you'd both like and dislike it. You'd like all the conspiracy stuff and the emphasis on symbols and codes hidden in pop culture, but probably hate the actors and characters and find the execution a bit hamfisted.

Wow. We see an owl on the rooftops here sometimes. Amazing bird to see, but sometimes in the UK I've seen barn owls which have got to be the spookiest bird.
Clearly owls had an influence on hauntological bands too...
