Sufi , your thoughtful gentle , sometimes reflective posts have always been a good side of Dissensus.

The moon was rising big and orange over this side o' the pond last night too ,
then a big orange blast of flame over on the Williamsburg/Greenpoint Brooklyn waterfront ,
right in front of the Oil tanks.
No stars to be seen but trailers of black stuff tendriling down from whatever it was that blew.
Nice and chilly here last night .
Will look for those stars tonight

thank you for the heads up

i read that the trick is to wait until the sun sets, just before the moon rises high enough to cast its full glare

supposedly 2007 will be better because it will be a new moon around the time of peak showers

and...
they are back again, large as life and twice as natcheral.

amazingly bright last night, even from smoky London, and should be good tonight too, if it stays clear, apparently it's a specially good year

and you can also wave to the ISS (passing from W at 10.22PM)

i think they are all night,
i just remembered when i was going to bed about 1, and sat out for 10 minutes and saw 2 - i never seen shooting stars as bright
