new order's album power corruption and lies
they really were trying a lot of new things on there - still sounds amazingly fresh (although bernard sumner doesnt sound totally confident yet)

never heard of this Budd album? (amazon hasn't either) what is it? when did it come out?

I just got 5 or 6 eyehategod albums... looking forward to diving in  :D  :D

It's off the album Luxa

I reccomend 2 tracks, Nova Alberi and Chet, the rest is not his best work but these two are gems.

Any other favourite Budd tracks you suggest checking out?

I like all Budd albums (not enough hard disc space for song names), with possible exception of a couple of dodgy collaborations (trip hop, spoken word, etc)

the most recent Avalon Sutra is just gorgeous, and the solo piano one before that is priceless.

on the beautiful minimalism tip, check Hans Otte - Das Buch der Klange, if I was forced at gun point for a crude comparison I would say Budd meets Reich.
