Any advice for a couple of first timers visiting Tokyo and Beijing?

Me and my wife-to-be-in-a-few-weeks will be visiting Tokyo for a few days in early September and Beijing for a few days in late September as part of our honeymoon So I'm hoping that some of you wise and well travelled souls might have some advice for us?

Sights, things to do, areas to visit, bars, clubs, restaurants, shops (record shops in particular ) and anything at all that you'd recommend really.

Oh, and we're only in Tokyo for four days but are thinking of getting out of the city to the Japanese countryside for one day if possible, so again any advice much appreciated.
