Good to see this get mentioned. It's DSM. Annoyed I don't have it anymore :(

Yep you're right, I sold some of my collection around 1990 as I was so skint. Including some 80s stuff, but mostly house and techno. Bad move that was, lost some DJ International, Mr Fingers, some Transmat stuff : (

Back to the thread . . .

Not really 80's groove but these were played out around the same time.
Ive stuck to the theme of space

Slick - Space Bass - possibly one of my all time fav records

Atmosphere - Dancing in outer space - again on Elite. It was THE label for UK street soul.

Dexter Wansel - Life on Mars

DJ Stretch Sunday Service Chillin FM 102.0 !!!

This is the greatest thread in the history of Dissensus. As soon as Luke runs out of songs the forum may as well shut down.

I love this music so much. The only problem is - The Kids don't. So I never really get a chance to play it out. :(

I long for the day that I can drop "On The Beat" and get a cheer.

Was hoping to find a clip of Norman "Junior" Giscombe's Get Up And Dance on Youtube, but there's no sign of it... Anyone else know it? Someone asks about it every time I play it.... if there were any justice it would be as well known as any of the big pop hits from the era.

Been mixing Dancing In Outer Space into Benga recently.

Whatchooknow about Thelonious Monk's son?

OK here's some:

Madonna

This thread sums up why I can't get excited about dubstep or minimal techno.

Haha! Because they lack shoulder pads and mascara?

That Madonna track is cool. It would be ultimately hip if she did a whole album in that style. Full circle... be a great way to retire.
