Paris: 20th Arrondissement

No offence, but that did make me chuckle a bit. It's absolutely fine - in fact, a lovely area of Paris that I almost lived in. There might have been a few bad things that happened there once, but 'inner' Paris is generally pretty damn safe. Maybe a couple of areas of the north-east are slightly dodgy, but the 20th is lovely.

As for transport - look at the above link, and the last few stations on the east of line 3 (the olive colour) are in the 20th (Gallieni etc). Plus Pere Lachaise (beautiful cemetery and the resting place of Jim Morrison and numerous illustrious Frenchpeople) will be very nearby - well worth a visit.
