XML editors

Does anyone know anything about XML editing software? I may have to invest in something for freelance use and I have no idea where to start. At work I've used XMetaL Author, but it's horrendously expensive. I want something that has both plaintext and WYSIWYG views, that integrates with a given DTD, and that ideally lets me record macros. Oh, and that works on a Mac.

Any ideas?

jEdit's quite good for that sort of thing; or there are Eclipse plugins for XML.

i was going to say Eclipse - in fact the base version is capable of editing xml, validating schemas, showing the doc as a collapsible tree hierarchy or as source. Its pretty heavyweight mind, if thats all you are using it for. Its actually a really good IDE in its own right for anything including java, .net, HTML etc - although it definitely has its detractors.
