i get roughly 500 australian dollars a week. depending on the hours i do. i usually just work 4 days a week becuase i'm not fond of working. i used to do 5 but it makes me behave in an irrational, volatile manner.

its plenty. pays the rent, the bills, i eat well, go to resturaunts once or twice a week, go on holiday once or twice a year, have a few beers, some weed, travel to work, outings on the weekend etc etc.

i guess i make ok money but couldn't be bothered with it. so i end up working only maybe 2 days out of the week on average, and live pretty minimally.

i'm just no longer excited about my job like i was before... used to attend conferences and look at Polish film posters and think about typography a lot... now it's like who gives a shit.

also used to be much more of a "careerist". i know guys who do what i do, after one lucky break like art directing a Madonna video or something, who get 10k a day. but i'm no longer excited about "moving up in the ladder" and finding that next big client or going to the next minimal modern office to talk to a group of "hip" yuppies about "brand realignment". so at the moment i just rely on my old dependable clients and it's sometimes rain sometimes shine... only want to survive in berlin and have enough money to make my art and music.

really varies too much but my day rate for broadcast is 300USD, which is very low (half of many) because i'm not in the office. sometimes i think about what it would have been like if i really went for the career thing... posh flat with a view, but not so much time for my sex my drugs and my rock'n'roll

Which is enough to live in a shared house comfortably for me at the moment, go out at the weekend, treat my gf, buy a few clothes, save a little bit, etc... I don't have any debts and I live quite frugaly. I'd be fucked if I wanted to have kids/buy my own place or run a car. But I'm not gonna worry about that for maybe another 5 years, if ever.

Regret not going to uni, tho.

$500 CDN a week. Sounds about similar to your situation. Might go back to uni though, not sure, I loathe my job (or jobs in general). I understand uni is a waste of time in some respects, but so is working for the government.

I should have gone, to be socialised into the liberal bourgeoisie more than anything.
I have the pretentious part pat-down, I just need to actually know about something.

Isn't that what dissensus is for?

Ha, I was just about to say this! "Well what do you want to know, then?" :)

I've been accepted for a post in operational research *touches wood* in the civil service, so my answer will hopefully soon be "some". Woohoo!
