i remember learning from veteran colleagues how very exactly to say sorry without admitting any mistake or responsibility "o sorry if you felt...", "sorry it happened like that..." etc
but now saying sorry has become meaningless, so easy to make an insincere apology with weasel words, we say sorry so much we wore it out
sorry for 'scuse me', sorry for 'can you speak up', sorry for 'fuck off an leave me alone with your expectations of humane customer services.......'
