Definitely. Drive didn't start it - like you say - but it made that aesthetic huge. It's all there too - totally alienated hero AND synthwave AND cars.

One of the things I've noticed the algorithm pushing at people is women's pole vaulting. You get clips of it on the front page with millions of views and thousands of Mr. Tea-esque comments like "She has an incredible ahem technique... " and "I am suddenly a fan of pole vaulting".
