Mortality

So I opened a book today to look something up for my son. Thomas Nagel's The View from Nowhere - great book, a classic in the genre - and found an old friend's name written in pencil inside the front cover. Oh! He lent it to me 30 years ago while we shared a flat in college. I know, I'll look him up on Facebook, meet up for a pint and return it. Except he died suddenly November 2022. Too late.

This comes only 3 months after another major character from those uni years, acid house and techno DJ, sometime pills and whizz supplier, Factory pr, bolt of Mancunian lightning, good mate of Peter hook, pbuh, died aged 50 last November. Some of you might even know him.

Two proper 4-dimensional characters, no more. What's with all the dying about of exceptional human beings at no remove?

In this thread, we pour one out for absent friends.
