Can we make this a running House / Techno thread like we have for dubstep, grime etc.? Feel like having a new one for every year seems pointless and restrictive. I don't mean turning this into some sort of "post the classics" thread, but if there's a track that's new to you and you wanna share and/or talk about and it happens to be from 2001 or whatever, post it here.

good point...there's a "classic house" thread where i post old things i'm into, would be nice to have a rolling house/techno thread for newer things. like this one, without the year.

I quite like the idea of a yearly house/techno thread. Stops them becoming too unwieldy like the GRIME thread.
The Grime thread is probably the most active thread on this board though. We had only 18 pages for last year's House/Techno thread, so I don't see it turning into some 500 page behemoth anytime soon. As I suggested above, we should still concentrate largely on the new stuff, but I don't see the point in discarding something from 2011 especially when we've barely scratched the surface of what's out there.

anyway, here's a track I've been enjoying. love the way it builds:

And this (one of the funkier techno tracks I've heard lately):

woops

is not like other people
The DJs on (about) 103 FM (I think it is) are playing this house tune I love but cannot describe - besides that it has a super bouncy riff and a voice sample saying 'ooh baby'.

Help anyone?

Trilogy Tapes posted this on twitter, really like it: http://www.japhy.co.uk/dj-spider-6-marshallito-infinite-potential-subbass-sound-system.html

Also really like "Ahead" from this new A Made Up Sound...not too sure about the flip, though: http://clone.nl/item25853.html

This...I think it came out last year but it's been repressed now:

re. yearly vs. one house & techno thread - I think the latter would be good. I still have a bunch of stuff I want to check out from last year, and it would be better than bumping two separate threads all the time. Maybe it could be a "Releases from the last few years" sort of thing, while the Classic House one could be for older stuff?

That new AMUS EP might be too out there for me. the major draw of his music is that his rhythms start out kind of weird and abstract and then gradually turn into something uniquely funky and propulsive - this may just be the samples chosen but on "endgame" it feels like he's gone the opposite route and the stop/start thing ends up being frustrating more than anything else. hopefully hearing the full track will help me make some sense of it.

i've come around on "ahead" though. it still confuses me but i like it.
