Ivor Cutler RIP

emptying the bowels in those days was unheard of- people just kept it in

i have that sticker-book: 'illiterates against the nizis' a particular favourite

i've only just found this out, is very sad. in amongst the cuteness there's a despairing humanism in his stuff that i always find very affecting...

i used to have a nice cutler record, with him playing the harmonium and doing his little poetry skits. i remember courting the missus to it!

cutler was part of the progressive crew absorbed by virgin wasnt he: henry cow, faust, kevin coyne.... and he had a part in the magical mystery tour too didnt he, still yet to see that movie.....

god bless him.

on a similar beatles related note i noticed John Junkin also passed away yesterday.

i liked the whole austere surrealism of cutler - someone who regularly brightened up peel shows in the early to mid eighties
